Dear LASO Members,

We are emailing you to address comments that were posted on social media on Monday November 23, 2015. These comments were in regard to LASO's stance on political issues relating to the Latino community. This is not the first time that we have received criticism in regards to LASO not being a political organization. We would like to take this time to apologize for any miscommunication within our organization in regards to past and recent criticism. And we would also like to take this time to reiterate that we at this moment are a cultural organization and not a political one. Our mission as an organization is

to unite Latinos through our shared culture and not through politics. This does not mean that we do not care about Latino's role in politics, it is simply not our organization's focus.
