The Latino and American Students Organization at American University offers cultural and social events for Latin American students and those passionate about Latin America. LASO is here to celebrate Latin American culture and help students adapt to American University's life. Whether you’re from Monterrey or Buenos Aires, Lima or Sao Paulo, Madrid or New York, we’re looking forward to meeting you! We get together for relaxed celebratory events, organize mixers with other campus groups, and more. To bring Latin American culture to American University, we invite guest speakers to discuss the region’s politics and issues, organize film screenings, and host a cultural show and traditional events, with everything from capoeira to salsa to tres leches.
